Meet Dr. Simmons

Robert L. Simmons, OD has a long history in optometry with years of specialized experience in medical optometry and fitting contact lenses and glasses. Dr. Simmons previously practiced at Southern Eye Care in St. George, Utah. Prior to that, he acted as a staff optometrist and later a clinic director at The Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City. He continues to provide comprehensive optometric care with an emphasis in contact lenses and advanced care, and is a LASIK co-managing doctor.

“I enjoy working with patients and helping them to see more clearly. It is a very rewarding experience for me,” said Dr. Simmons.

Dr. Simmons graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Dixie College. He also attended the University of Utah and Westminster College in Salt Lake City. In 1990, he received a Bachelor of Science degree and, in 1992, a Doctor of Optometry degree – both from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed an internship at The Eye Institute of Utah. Dr. Simmons is a member of the American Optometric Association, Utah Optometric Association and a former president of the Southern Utah Optometric Society.
