These Less Invasive Skin Treatments Can Give You Cosmetic Surgery Results Without Going Under the Knife

// April 25, 2022

Elective cosmetic surgery in Utah and elsewhere can be expensive, requires recovery time, and provides more dramatic final results. If you are looking for minor cosmetic adjustments, want a more subtle look, and want to recover quickly, cosmetic surgery may not be your best solution.

For patients looking for rejuvenation without surgery, Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center offers a range of services that are much less invasive. Fortunately, our cosmetic procedure options require very little (to almost zero) recovery time and cost less than cosmetic surgery. If you do not like or have adverse reactions to anesthesia or are fearful of surgery, the following cosmetic treatments may be the best way to enhance your beauty or support beautiful, natural aging.

4 Cosmetic Treatments With Incredible Results

The following cosmetic treatments are quick, same-day procedures that do not require surgery and have minimal recovery time. These procedures are often less costly than surgery. However, because they are cosmetic treatments, they must generally be covered “out-of-pocket” — not through health insurance. At the Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center, our patients consult with Dr. Todd Engen prior to any procedure to determine if you are a good candidate, discuss health risks, and decide the best place to perform the cosmetic procedure. Many of these procedures can be done at our office.

BOTOX®

BOTOX® Cosmetic, also known as cosmetic denervation or BOTOX for short, is a neurotoxin injected into the facial muscles to cause temporary paralysis and relaxation. The result is a temporary reduction of facial wrinkles. BOTOX is most commonly used to target crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in aging adults. BOTOX treatments work best for those wanting to lessen wrinkles in their face with minimal fuss. Botox treatments require no anesthesia and the procedure takes roughly 10 minutes to complete.

Botox begins working one to three days after treatment, and the effect can last three months or longer. To maintain the results, you will need regular follow-up injections. Botox generally should not be done if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an allergy to cow’s milk protein. Botox is also used to treat medical conditions, such as:

Latisse

Latisse is the first and only FDA-approved treatment to help lashes grow longer, thicker and darker. It is the most promising and safest treatment for people who suffer from thin or irregular eyelashes (hypotrichosis). Latisse is a medicated eye drop applied to the lash line of the upper eyelid that encourages gradual growth of longer, thicker and darker eyelashes.

For complete results, daily application for at least two months is required. Eyelash improvements remain as long as you continue use. After discontinuing use, your eyelashes eventually return to their original appearance. Other side effects may include itchy, red eyes, dry eyes, darkened eyelids, which can fade when treatment stops, and darkened irises, which are usually permanent.

Laser skin treatments

The Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center performs several different procedures that can make your skin healthier and younger-looking without invasive surgery or long recovery times. They include:

Laser skin resurfacing uses a laser beam to remove the damaged outer layer of skin and allow a new, younger-looking layer to emerge.  You can have firmer, smoother, and younger-looking skin in one to three treatments. The Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center also uses a unique combination of radiofrequency and light to treat problem areas and obtain desired results. Laser skin treatments can treat or eliminate:

Results are initially gradual and progressive, obtaining the desired results relatively quickly. The results can last for years.

Fillers

Skin fillers are another procedure that can give your face a younger look. Using the latest technological innovations, these procedures are quick and relatively painless with long-lasting results. Procedures include:

Fillers add contours to the face, smooth the skin, and significantly reduce deep folds and wrinkles. Fillers often restore the natural, curved contours in your face. They can decrease:

It is a quick, in-office procedure that involves injecting hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin’s connective tissue, into targeted areas on the face. The procedure delivers almost immediate results that can last anywhere from six months to a year.

Trust the Medical Staff at Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center for Your Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments

Don’t trust anyone with your facial cosmetic procedures. At the Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center, we have the certification and experience necessary to deliver beautiful and safe cosmetic results. Dr. Todd Engen at the Excel Cosmetic Surgery Center is medically-trained to offer the highest level of quality and safety. He consults with each patient prior to procedures to discuss treatment options and best practices; we make sure you feel informed and comfortable before we perform any procedure.

The above treatments should be used only under a doctor’s care. The injections and procedures described above must be done accurately and precisely in order to avoid unwanted or dangerous side effects. Do not leave cosmetic procedures to chance, particularly in the sensitive and highly visible facial region.  Only a skilled physician will know the potential dangers or side effects that may occur due to your medical history, medications you have or are currently taking, and any prior treatments you have had.
