Meet Dr. Mason Schmutz
Mason A. Schmutz, MD is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist in the field of glaucoma. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataract surgery. He also provides general ophthalmology care including the management of diabetes, dry eye, macular degeneration, ocular surface disease, infections, trauma, and refractive error.
Dr. Schmutz received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. After medical school he completed a residency program in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Following residency Dr. Schmutz completed a glaucoma fellowship at the University of California Irvine. During his fellowship he was trained in the latest medical management and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
Dr. Schmutz is dedicated to his patients and committed to helping them improve and maintain their vision. He has performed and published research in the fields of glaucoma and cataract surgery.

Dr. Schmutz is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Schmutz was born in Provo Utah. He is married and has four children. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
