Meet Dr. Hansen
Joshua J. Hansen, MD is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, providing advanced medical and surgical eye care for patients of all ages. He treats a full spectrum of eye conditions including cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, trauma, and many other eye conditions.
Dr. Hansen specializes in cataract surgery and provides patients with the latest technology and advances in intraocular lens options.
Dr. Hansen earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in Physiology and Developmental Biology having graduated summa cum laude. He earned his medical degree at the University of Miami in Florida, where he was taught by world renowned leaders in ophthalmology at the top-rated Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He graduated medical school with high honors (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society) with distinction in research. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Emory Eye Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received further training in advanced cataract surgery.
Dr. Hansen enjoys getting to know his patients and helping them achieve their best vision. He is also passionate about global health and enjoys caring for patients across the world on medical mission trips.
Dr. Hansen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
On a personal note
Dr. Hansen was raised in South Jordan, Utah. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He enjoys photography, water skiing, snow skiing, and being outdoors with his family. He is fluent in German.
