Excel Eye Center of American Fork welcomes Robert L. Simmons, O.D.

November 6, 2002-American Fork, UT- Robert L. Simmons, O.D., has recently joined Excel Eye Center of American Fork to practice optometry with years of specialized experience in fitting contact lenses and glasses.

Dr. Simmons previously practiced at Southern Utah Eye Care in St. George, Utah since 1994. Prior to that experience, he acted as a staff optometrist and later a clinic director at The Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City. He continues to provide comprehensive optometric care with an emphasis in contact lenses as well as advanced care as a LASIK co-managing doctor.

Dr. Simmons graduated with an associate of arts degree from Dixie College. He also attended the University of Utah and Westminster College in Salt Lake City. In 1992, he received both a Bachelor of Science degree and doctor of optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed an internship at The Eye Institute of Utah. Dr. Simmons is a member of the American Optometric Association, Utah Optometric Association, and a former president of the Southern Utah Optometric Society.
