Optometrist
ROBERT L. SIMMONS, O.D., has a long history in optometry with years of specialized experience in medical optometry, and fitting contact lenses and glasses.
Dr. Simmons previously practiced at Southern Utah Eye Care in St. George, Utah, beginning in 1994. Prior to that experience, he acted as a staff optometrist and later a clinic director at The Eye Institute of Utah in Salt Lake City. He continues to provide comprehensive optometric care with an emphasis in contact lenses and advanced care, and is a LASIK co-managing doctor.
"I enjoy working with patients and helping them to see more clearly. It is a very rewarding experience for me," says Dr. Simmons.
Dr. Simmons graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Dixie College. He also attended the University of Utah and Westminster College in Salt Lake City. In 1990, he received a Bachelor of Science degree—both from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed an internship at the Eye Institute of Utah. Dr. Simmons is a member of the American Optometric Association, Utah Optometric Association, and a former president of the Souther Utah Optometric Society.

On a personal note...
Dr. Simmons grew up in Salt Lake City. He and his wife, Merry, have three children. He enjoys family activities, music, and travel.
