W. Scott Lohner, M.D.

Diplomate American Board of Ophthalmology

W. SCOTT LOHNER, M.D. is extensively trained in ophthalmology and specializes in laser refractive and cataract surgery. He started performing LASIK shortly after its FDA approval. Having served thousands of patients with all types of eye diseases, he finds his greatest satisfaction by helping patients lose their dependence on glasses and in restoring vision that was previously lost. “We’re getting great results and with the advent of Custom treatments, things are now even better and safer than ever before!” said Dr. Lohner.

As a recipient of LASIK several years ago, Dr. Lohner knows personally what it feels like to experience the wonders of laser vision correction. “I love the opportunity now as a surgeon to help provide this same miracle to others. My experience stems from the patient’s point of view and the surgeon point of view which allows me to truly empathize with those who are contemplating making this significant change in their lives,” said Dr. Lohner.

Dr. Lohner’s practice extends throughout Utah County, South Central Utah, Delta, Fillmore, and Nephi.

Dr. Lohner graduated from the University of Utah Medical School where he subsequently completed his internship of combined internal medicine and ophthalmology. During his internship his interests focused on glaucoma and cataract surgery. His work there has been published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His work has also been presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Uveitis Society in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Lohner completed his residency specializing in ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans where he presented research annually and was awarded honors for his work relating to refractive surgery. Following residency training, Dr. Lohner became certified in laser refractive surgery by completing courses at UCSF and in Southern California and is a certified LASIK surgeon.

Dr. Lohner is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Utah Medical Association and the Utah Ophthalmology Society. He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

On a personal note…

Dr. Lohner was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Provo, Utah. He and his wife Kimberly have four children. In his spare time he loves spending time with his family, golfing, skiing, working out, and composing music.
