Dell C. Morris, O.D.
Optometrist

Dell C. Morris, O.D. has practiced in the field of optics and optometry since 1986. He currently specializes in contact lens and glasses prescriptions. He is extensively trained in prosthetic contact lenses and specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and other corneal abnormalities. He is also trained for general optometric care, consultations for refractive surgery, foreign body removal, and is licensed to prescribe medications for eye infection and disease.

Dr. Morris is an outgoing person whose favorite part of being an optometrist is helping people on an individual level. “I get to deal with so many different personalities,” says Dr. Morris. “Everyone’s attitude toward physicians is different. It’s cool when I can help them feel comfortable enough to start addressing their vision needs and concerns.”

The field of contact lenses is extensive, says Dr. Morris. Excel Eye Center gets new contact lens options nearly monthly. “There are now hundreds of different contact lenses available, so a wide knowledge of the field helps me guide patients to just the right one,” says Dr. Morris.

Dr. Morris also has extensive experience in helping patients become more comfortable in their glasses prescriptions. Having worked in an optical shop for three years while still in college, he had the opportunity to see a wide variety of the problems patients can have with their spectacles. “With the right mix of communication and examination, we can often find a prescription for glasses that will be much more comfortable,” says Dr. Morris.

Dr. Morris graduated from Brigham Young University in Microbiology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He refined his expertise at a contact lens residency in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Before joining Excel in 1996, Dr. Morris practiced optometry at the Indian Health Service Clinic in Idaho. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Utah Optometric Association.

On a personal note…

Dr. Morris grew up in Southeastern Idaho. He and his wife Michele have five children. He enjoys reading, running, gardening and spending time with his family.
